CAS adopts Mobius image recognition software in the form of “Colors of Chemistry”

Columbus, Ohio – March 25, 2010

“Colors of Chemistry” is a free downloadable Mobius application.  As all Mobius developed branches, this specific service is accessible with any mobile phone because of its unique utilization of MMS communication.

Mobius is a sophisticated self learning object image recognition engine.  It is able to discern objects in an image that we tell it to look for.  When using your camera phone you can record the image, send it to a web address  or short code and we can trigger events from that image and return a variety of information to your cell phone. For example, a consumer can take a photo of a magazine print ad, television ad or packaging/pos at retail through their cell phone send to the web address and the brand can respond directly to that consumer with any type of marketing communication. This process works across all carriers and all camera cell phones and requires no apps and no software downloads.

Using Mobius, our sophisticated image recognition software, the technology allows for an easier and quicker way to set forth reminders and specific place holders on a user’s calendar.  Posters or emails of events/conferences/meetings can be easily identified by Mobius’ software when users take a quick picture of the poster/email and send it in to
CAS@agm.tw.  After that step, enabling the embedding of information into images, Mobius allows all important and specified information for each and every occasion to be correctly inserted into any user’s personal calendar.

Added bonuses include a new and available online calendar for more relaxed use as opposed to an on-the-go setting, where mobile access would be the primary form of use for the application and the PDF document of the CAS calendar can be printed off for those preferring a tangible calendar.  Diverse and fascinating questions relating to science are also answered monthly from the CAS databases themselves.
