COMPEX - Technology and Innovation in
Ohio
.
Aram Kovach of COMPEXinc.com believes that Technology and Innovation are the catalyst to social and economic change.
I met about three years ago when I was Director for Intel Capital, the strategic investment arm of the Intel Corporation, and looking for advanced mobile and computer-centric technology.
I traveled to Columbus, Ohio to view a demonstration of a concept
and his team had just produced, called the Avatar. The Avatar definition is a “supreme knowledge being”, or according to Wikipedia in computer speak “a representation of a user in a shared virtual reality.” COMPEXinc.com had brought this virtual definition to life. The initial demo of this electronic Avatar was on a 30 foot wide screen, life size., It could talk interactively and even follow a person back and forth walking in front of the screen. Trade shows, computer companions, teaching aides, and virtual reality advertising all came to mind when viewing this amazing demonstration. It needed enhanced computing power, (this demo was liquid Nitrogen cooled, due to computer over-clocking) and I was interested in it for that reason; to help Intel’s search for ever increasing computing powered technologies.
COMPEXinc.com has continued to innovate, thanks to ’s view of the technical world, and has produced items that are ahead of their time, just as the Avatar was in 2003.
One of the newest innovations is the www.VideoGateway.tv, which has simplified the method of using the internet to deliver audio and video recordings to any device connected audience. It can stream continuous live video in high resolution, or download prerecorded content.
Streaming and sharing video has become yet another novel use of the internet. The advent of sites such as YouTube, Google Video, Ifilm, and Vimeo has created competition for traffic and popularity. There is a definite future for high dollar stakes in this growing market;
’ self funded site is easier to use, and without some of the resolution, size or device limitations. COMPEXinc.com claims they have the storage capacity, bandwidth and technology to handle millions of viewers, but still be affordable enough for the smallest project. It looks like has created a gateway into the internet and taken the complicated issues of internet video streaming and made it simple. IDC says that it will be years before 90% of current digital device owners will be ready to use computer and video transfer techniques, but and COMPEXinc.com look to have a good lead.
Even the Europeans, according to telecom giant Orange™, have four main goals in the future for mobile operators: “To increase data revenue, attract new customers, support mobile broadband services uptake, and to ensure cross selling of content (mobile TV, video on demand, etc).
The COMPEXinc.com claim of live media streaming content delivery over the Internet, with reliability (100% uptime!), and no device or media content limitations, looks category leading.
